Full Throttle, a component of The Air National Guard Band of the South, will be presenting a concert at Rogers Park Amphitheater in Tryon on Tuesday, June 27th at 7:00 pm. The performance is family-friendly and open to the public, free of charge.
Full Throttle is one of the eight ensembles that makes up the Air National Guard Band of the South. Formed in 2021, their primary mission is to deploy overseas to perform for troops stationed at Forward Operating Bases. These performances are a much-needed “taste of home” that bolster troop morale and esprit de corps for remotely stationed military members. Back at home, they support events for the TN Air National Guard, 134 Air Refueling Wing, and numerous other high-level military and civilian functions, using music to advance international diplomacy with America’s allies and strategic partners.
This 8 member popular music ensemble performs classic and current rock and country hits, as well as patriotic favorites. At home or abroad, their high-energy performances assist in enhancing troop morale, building partnerships with local, national and international communities, increasing recruiting and retention efforts and inspiring patriotism using effective and powerful music.
As part of the Air National Guard Band of the South, Full Throttle honors those who have served, inspires American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and positively impacts the global community on behalf of the Air National Guard and the United States. The excellence demonstrated by these Airmen musicians is a reflection of the excellence displayed by Airmen stationed around the globe. Each member is proud to represent all Airmen, whose selfless service and sacrifices ensure the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America.
“Many times, people don’t have opportunity to meet and talk with members of the military. So it’s our job to go out into the public to share the Air Force story and let our audiences know what the military is accomplishing here at home and abroad,” says TSgt Elisa Wardeska. “We are always excited to visit communities within our region. We love having the opportunity to meet with and talk to our audiences and hear the stories they have to share about their own ties to the military.”
Air National Bands are the active-duty bands’ counterpart in the Air National Guard Band. Headquartered in Knoxville, TN, the Air National Guard Band of the South is the official musical ambassador for the Tennessee Air National Guard. The Band of the South’s mission is two-fold: first, to enhance and lift the morale and espirit de corps of our fellow Airmen stationed either in the United States or abroad; second, to increase the public’s understanding of the importance of air power, the missions and programs of the Air Force and Air National Guard and the bravery, sacrifice and dedication of Airmen across the globe. While performing these missions, members of the Band of the South have performed in almost every state in the union as well as being deployed to Germany, Kandahar, Afghanistan and more. The Air National Guard Band of the South supports the total Air Force and Air National Guard mission in war and peace by inspiring patriotism and fostering a deep appreciation of the rich history and legacy of the Air Force.
