Tryon Horse Heritage Week

Kick Off Tryon Horse Heritage Week in Downtown Tryon on Saturday, April 13. Tryon Downtown Development Association (TDDA) is hosting a downtown block party to celebrate our unique equestrian history and community. Enjoy some of the classic events and activities related to the Horse in our own historic downtown.

Join us in Downtown Tryon for a kickoff of Tryon Horse Heritage Week. The kickoff, originally slated to be the Blockhouse Steeplechase at Tryon International Equestrian Center has been rescheduled to October. That’s when the Tryon Downtown Development Association (TDDA) decided we would celebrate the kickoff right in the middle of downtown Tryon.

As with some of the traditions of the local steeplechase, TDDA will host a tailgate contest. We have only a few spots available in Downtown Tryon reserved specifically for YOU to tailgate! The spots are first come, first served and are $10. As a part of the tailgate spot, your hosting, decorating and tailgating ability will be put to the test by our judges. Prizes will be awarded in categories of Most Elegant, Traditionally Tryon and Most Unusual.  Register at A Taste of Olives and Grapes of using the online form HERE! Spots are VERY limited… be sure to go soon!

Don’t forget to share on social media! Use hashtag #tryonhorse during the kickoff and throughout Tryon Horse Heritage Week.
