August 24, 2018, Downtown Tryon – Join downtown Tryon businesses in a special “4th Friday” event in historic downtown Tryon.
On Friday, August 24 the town will be coming together in a special 4th Friday to support Trevor Arrowood, a 22 year old Polk County native who was recently diagnosed with a cancerous sarcoma in his heart. Trevor Arrowood is the son of Tryon Chief of Police Jeff Arrowood and Kerri Arrowood and has currently been serving as an officer in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The communities in Polk County, surrounding counties and among police offices throughout the area have come in droves to support officer Arrowood through a number of fundraisers, raffles, bbq’s and events.
4th Fridays are a monthly strolls held in Downtown Tryon where shops are open late, and many have specials, live music, and hors devours and more. Shop, dine and play in Downtown Tryon with great restaurants, bars, shops and the newly restored historic movie theatre. On this special 4th Friday on August 24, restaurants will be donating a portion of proceeds from the day to support Trevor Arrowood. In addition, several artists will be painting live on the street, with an auction at the end of the evening to donate funds to Arrowood.
Local band, Dixie Dirt will perform outside, and raffles will be taking place throughout the night.
